Romancing Pollock

Courtesy tons of paint that i got from a Friend, I tried a doing an intense Pollock. This got me the green label and also i no longer own it.

The Compound Flower

My Dilemma with Roses, still can't paint one. This was a try to paint one using the old school style of monochrome. I gave this one away for a charity art auction.

Fire

All my abstracts are named by my niece. Her first reaction on seeing this painting was Fire.Also there is a family war between my Mom and Sister going on for this one. Of course my Mom wins it.

In Perspective of Fida

This one is a tribute to MF Hussain. I had a painting exhibition and just a day before MF Hussain had passed away. I recreated one of his works using my style.

For His Birthday

I wanted to paint something for Sameer's birthday and was happy and excited. The colors i am sure reflect that.

Water Lillies

The background / negative space does look black but it is not. I have used burnt umber with sap green. Black is a strong color and it is difficult to notice other colors when you have black on a painting. I faked the effect ;)

Ruzie's Sunflower

This painting is copied from the sunflower pictures that Ruzan took, it was a difficult one to do. I guess wouldn't have completed it if wasn't for John and Rupa's help.

The center of the flower is a lot of under and over painting to get the effect. I wanted to used gesso to do the texture but was afraid it will crack over a period of time. I have used a lot of thick paint directly from the tube and let the colors blend on the canvas instead of mixing them in the palette.
